Harvey “Carboly” Stanley, 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at his home in Apple Valley, Calif., with his family by his side.
He joined the Navy at the age of 17. While on leave in September 1955, he met his wife, Charolette Smith. After serving three years, he decided that he wanted to be home with his family. He became a long haul truck driver to provide for his growing family.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Smith Stanley of Apple Valley, Calif.; children, Kathy Speake and James of Buena Park, Calif., Jimmy Stanley and Rebecca of DeQuincy, Susie Stanley of Buena Park, Calif., Joe Stanley of Golden Grove, Calif., and Laura DeClue and Kenny of Apple Valley, Calif. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Viola Nelson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sarah Stanley; brothers, Dusty Stanley, George Nelson; and sisters, LeNora Nelson Lykins, Betty Nelson LeBlanc and Velma Stanley Gearen.
