Carolyn Boyd

Carolyn Anne Gordon Boyd, 78, of McComb, Miss. died of heart disease Friday, July 22, 2022, in the cardiac unit of Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.

She grew up attending the public schools of McComb and graduated with the McComb High School Class of 1961. She attended Hinds Community College in Raymond and was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church where she often served as an Usher.

She retired as an Administrative Assistant with the Mississippi Department of Human Services after 31 years of service.

She was survived by daughter Paula Rutland (Robby), of DeQuincy; and son, Chris Mosbroker, of McComb; granddaughters Jessica Herring (Ryan), of Ragley, Jennifer Taylor (Dustin), of DeQuincy; grandson Colton Rutland, of DeQuincy; four great-grandchildren; stepdaughters, Trish Fleming and Debbie McWilliams of McComb, and Tracie Humphries of Madison; brother, Mac Gordon (Mary Lee) of Blakely, Ga.; and sister, Nancy Lazenby of McComb.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, Charles B. and Jonnie McDowell Gordon; and husbands, Paul Mosbroker and Clifton Boyd.

A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, July 27, with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. until the service starts at 11 a.m. Both will be held at Centenary UMC in McComb with Dr. Jonathan Speegle and Connie Felter officiating. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery in McComb under the direction of Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb.
