Mary Lou Marcantel Thompson, 74, was born Feb. 10, 1948 and passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charlie Thompson; children, Craig Thompson and wife, Kimberly, Monique “Neicy” Poole and husband, Art, Rev. Cody Thompson and wife, Christie, and Rev. Chane Thompson and wife, Selena; grandchildren, Cortney Anderson and husband, Earl, Kelcey Poole, Dillion Thompson, Ceaton Thompson and wife, Brooke, Chanler Thompson and wife, Madeline, Rylie Thompson, Christian Thompson, Rian Thompson, Gamma Thompson; and seven great-grand children; sisters, Brenda Shirley, and Sandy Durbin and husband, Robert; brothers, Tony Marcantel and wife, Christi, and Ricky Marcantel and wife, Lynda.
She was preceded in death by her children, Colton and Cevin Thompson; grandchildren, Darrell, Luke, and Tracy Thompson; great-grandchild, Ellie Scott Thompson; parents, Calvin and Maxine Marcantel; and brother, Chip Marcantel.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, July 8 and the funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 9. The visitation and funeral service was held at First United Pentecostal Church, 230 Smith St., DeQuincy. Pastor Carlton Jackson, Jr. officiated. Interment followed at Perkins Cemetery in DeQuincy.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith and Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
