Effie Eva Demeritt, 97, of Sulphur passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022 at her home.
She was born in Louisa. She worked as a Nurses’ Aide for 15 years at Holly Hill Nursing Home in Sulphur.
Survivors include her daughters, Shirley Demeritt of Sulphur, Molly Parker of DeQuincy, and Dena Granger (Patrick) of Sulphur; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Demeritt; father, Emile Theriot; and one brother.
Graveside services were held Thursday, June 23, in Big Woods Cemetery under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Jody Barrilleaux led the service.
