Elaine Doyle Buxton was born Feb. 22, 1933, and passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022, at the age of 89.
She is survived by her children, Prentice Wayne Buxton and wife, Carol, Terry Lynn Buxton and wife, Kathy, Dennis Owen Buxton and wife, Kim and Kelly Ann Weaver and husband, David; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Margaret Doyle Beckwith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Buxton; mother, Geneve Lee; and father, Dempsey Doyle; brothers, LeRoy “Duke” Bailey and Wibur “Goober” Doyle; and sisters, Martha “Toots” Bailey Doyle, Cecila “Yankee” Castor Gillis and Goldie Doyle Pickering.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at Hargrove Bible Baptist Church in DeQuincy and the funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, May 6, with interment to follow atGood Hope Cemetery in Singer.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
