Sherry Diane Goos was born Apr. 25, 1947 and passed away Saturday, Apr. 16, 2022. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren who liked to call her MawMaw Grouch.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Frankie Goos; her children, Tina Lyles and husband, Johnnie, Kelly Phillips and husband, Charlie, Coby Goos, Angie Miller and husband, Jason; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; along with her siblings, Donnie Fontenot and wife, Delores, Gary Fontenot and wife, Barbara, and her sister-in-law Wanda Fontenot.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Gina Driver; parents, Delco and Eula Fontenot, brother, Charles Fontenot; and her granddaughter, Haley Hardesty.
The family received friends from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Monday, Apr. 18 at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy with the funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. Rev. Greg Cavenah officiated. Interment followed at Goos Cemetery in Moss Bluff.
Pallbearers were Braiden Hardesty, Gage LeBlanc, Justin Gorham, Cameron Gorham, Kade Goos, Lane Goos, Matt Lyles, Garrett Phillips, and Gavin Phillips.
The family would like to thank Heart of Hospice and Resthaven Nursing Home for all care and hospitality throughout this time.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
