Nettie Henagan

Nettie Lee (Trouble) Henagan was born in DeQuincy on Jan. 30, 1935 and passed away after a brief illness on Friday, Apr. 15, 2022 at the age of 87.

She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of DeQuincy where she served for many years on the kitchen team helping serve food for all occasions at the church. She dearly loved her Sunday School class and all the friends she had in class. She raised with her husband, Bobby, two sons following them and supporting them in the many sports they were involved in and later loved watching and supporting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their activities. She was an awesome mother, MawMaw and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her two sons, Darrell Henagan and wife, Debbie and Jimmy Henagan and wife, Jeri Lynn; seven grandchildren, Kashia Spears (Kevin), Brandon Henagan (Courtney), Christin Dowers (Jake), Ryan Guillot (Jonathan), Jon Henagan, Haley Bush (Kris), Alyx Henagan; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Bobby Henagan; her parents, Jim Marcantel and Mamie Shoemake Marcantel; brother, Lloyd Marcantel; sisters, Ruby Seifeld, Myrtle King and Claire Williams.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Apr. 20, and from 10- 11: a.m. Thursday, Apr. 21 with the funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. The visitation and funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church, 201 S. Pine St., DeQuincy. Rev. Brad Johnson and Pastor Jim Fisher will officiate the service.

Interment will follow the service at Masonic Cemetery in DeQuincy.

Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
