Singer baseball report

Game 1

Singer 2, Elizabeth 8 – Singer Hornets Varsity fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 8-2 loss to Elizabeth on Monday.

Singer struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Elizabeth, giving up eight runs.

Elizabeth scored three runs in the second inning.

Dylan Conner started the game for Singer Hornets Varsity. The righthander lasted six innings, allowing 13 hits and eight runs while striking out seven and walking one.

Caston Perkins went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Singer Hornets Varsity in hits.

Game 2

Singer 11, Elizabeth 1 – Braydon Easley drove in four on two hits to lead the Singer Hornets past Elizabeth 11-1 on Thursday. Easley drove in runs on a double in the first, a single in the second, and a double in the sixth.

Singer fired up the offense in the first inning, when Dylan Conner singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Tate Hess led things off on the mound for Singer Hornets Varsity. The righthander surrendered one run on three hits over six innings, striking out 12 and walking one.

Singer racked up eight hits. Caston Perkins, Blake Cooley, and Easley each had 2 hits for Singer.

Game 3

Singer 13, Starks 0 – Singer put up eight runs in the fourth on its way to a 13-0 victory over Starks on Friday. Singer’s big bats were led by Dylan Conner, Braydon Easley, Kolton Royer, Dawson Roebuck,

Caston Perkins, and Tate Hess, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Singer opened up scoring in the first inning. Perkins hit a solo homer.

Singer tallied eight runs in the fourth inning. Singer’s big inning was driven by singles by Easley, Royer,

Roebuck, and Perkins, a home run by Hess, and a double by Conner.

A single by Jacob Berwick in the third inning was a positive for Starks.

Colton Stains was on the pitcher’s mound for Starks. Stains went three and two-thirds innings, allowing 11 runs on 13 hits and striking out five. Max Crisp threw one-third of an inning in relief.

Singer had two home runs on the day. Hess went for the long ball in the fourth inning. Perkins had a homer in the first inning.

Singer collected 15 hits on the day. Roebuck and Perkins each had 3 hits in the day. Conner, Blake Cooley, and Easley each had 2 hits for Singer.

Singer Hornets Varsity tore up the base paths, as they stole 4 bases. Hess led the way with two steals.
