DeQuincy Masons donate $1,200 to track team

By Jerry Bell, Masonic Junior Deacon PM

On Tuesday, Apr. 5 around 4:45 p.m., the DeQuincy High School track team met at DeQuincy Masonic Lodge #279 to receive a donation from the Lodge for new uniforms. Members of the track team, masons, and coaches met to take a photo receiving the donation.

This year’s donation amounted to $1200 but over the last three years, the donation has amounted to over $9,000. This money was raised when Bro. Tom Threet donated his time and talents he possesses when conducting concealed carry classes and then donated the proceeds to the track team. Members of Lodge #279 assisted Threet in conducting the classes.

Presenting the donation to the team and coaches were Master of the Lodge, Joey Gilland, Senior Warden, Tom Threet, and Senior Deacon James Nash.
