John Edward Gerard Dougherty, 64, of Sulphur died on Tuesday, Mar. 22, 2022.
He was born in Lake Charles. He graduated from Sulphur High in 1976. After high school, he formed The Roy Rockit Band. He retired from Certainteed after 20 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Reid (Brian) of Noblesville, Indiana; son, John Jordan Dougherty of Lake Charles; daughter, Nan Erin Shook (Taylor) of Sulphur; daughter, Mary Burge (Taylor) of Ragley, and daughter, Laura Dougherty (Dustin Johnson) of Sulphur; the mother of his children, Jenny Dougherty; eight grandchildren; brothers, Tim and Brian; sisters Theresa, Mary and Trudy.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Joseph Dougherty; mother Gertrude Hoffpauir; and one sister.
A Celebration of Life led by Jody Barrilleaux was held Monday, Mar. 28, at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Cremation was entrusted to Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
