Ebenezer “Eb” Burnitt was born Nov. 16, 1962 and passed away Monday, Mar. 14, 2022 at the age of 59. Eb was a faithful member of Hargrove Pentecostal Church where he served as a Board Member and musician. Eb loved digging up history from Indian arrowheads to silver coins. He enjoyed visiting all of the area thrift stores and pawn shops. His love for his children and grandchildren was no secret. Eb loved to cook and if you visited him in his home, you never left empty handed. Eb will be greatly missed by all who knew him because he touched the lives of everyone he met.
He is survived by his children, Joseph Burnitt and wife, Kasha, Jade Burgess and husband, Max and step-son, David Doyle; grandchildren, Addison, Marshall, Judah, Liberty and Jody; his parents, Sherwood Burnitt and Asolete Stanley Burnitt; sisters, Dora Parker and husband, Johnny, Donna Mathews and husband, Danny; brothers, Larry Burnitt, Steve Burnitt and Eddie Burnitt and wife, Karen Sue and his mother-in-law, Vivian Clark.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Marie Burnitt; and his father-in-law, Sylvester Clark.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Mar. 18, and the funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Mar. 19. The visitation and funeral were held at Hargrove Pentecostal Church, 1079 Highway 389, DeQuincy. Pastor Anthony Kennon and Rev. David Kennon officiated. Interment followed at Clark Cemetery in Starks.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
