CITY OF DEQUINCY
ORDINANCE NO. 938
The City Council of the City of DeQuincy, State of Louisiana, met in regular session on the 14th day of March, 2022, and adopted the following Ordinance regarding the abandonment of an alleyway in Hereford Addition No. 2.
WHEREAS, the City of DeQuincy has been contacted by the owner of property in Hereford Addition No. 2, regarding the abandonment of an alley running between Lots 1 through 6 of Block F of Hereford Addition No. 2 to the City of DeQuincy and Lots 1 through 18 of Block 2 of Hereford Addition No. 1 to the City of DeQuincy, and after a favorable finding by the City Council that revocation would be in the best interests of the City and for other good cause shown,
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council that the City does hereby revoke and set aside the alley running between Lots 1 through 6 of Block “F” of Hereford Addition No. 2 to the City of DeQuincy, Louisiana, as per plat recorded, records of Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, the dedication of the property as revoked, set aside and vacated being more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the Northwest corner of Lot 1 of Block “F” of Hereford Addition No. 2 to the City of DeQuincy, Louisiana, as per plat recorded, records of Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, thence West to the Northeast corner of Lot 6, thence South along the East line of Lots 6, 5, 4 and 3 to the Southeast corner of Lot 3, thence East to the Southwest corner of Lot 2, thence North along the West line of Lots 2 and 1 to the Northwest corner of Lot 1, thence West to the Northeast corner of Lot 6, the point of commencement,it being the intention of the City of DeQuincy, Louisiana, as owner of said dedicated alley to relinquish and quit claim said alley to the owners of the contiguous lots.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that by this revocation it is the intention of the City of DeQuincy to cause the property relinquished to revert to the present owners of the land contiguous to the said alley so released and relinquished to hereafter own to the center of the alley, as directed by law, this quit claim, revocation, abandonment and relinquishment to be however, without warranty of title to the contiguous land owners, in whose favor this relinquishment and abandonment runs.
This Ordinance was declared duly adopted this 14th day of March, 2022.

I certify that the above and foregoing constitutes a true and correct copy of an Ordinance duly adopted at a meeting of the City Council of the City of DeQuincy held on March 14, 2022, at which meeting a quorum was present and voted in favor of said Ordinance, and said Ordinance has never been modified or rescinded and is still in full force and effect.
