Chelsie Roebuck has been named DeQuincy Primary School’s Teacher of the Year. Roebuck has been an educator for 11 years.
She earned a degree in Early Childhood Education from McNeese State University in May of 2011. She began her career at K.R. Hanchey in DeRidder, where she taught Kindergarten for two years.
Nine years ago, she moved to DeQuincy Primary School as a Kindergarten teacher. She has spent the last six years teaching second grade. Roebuck has filled the capacity of team leader and currently serves on the leadership team.
As a teacher, her motto is “Love first, teach second.” She believes that in order to learn, each student must be loved. Her goal each year is to find the best in each student that she teaches.
