On Monday, Feb. 28, Corporal Annajo Haynes was promoted to Sergeant. Pinning the stripes on Sergeant Haynes were Asst. Chief of Police Roy Williams and Captain Doug Phillips.
Sergeant Haynes started working for the State of Louisiana in 2008 as a Felony Probation and Parole Officer. Sergeant Haynes supervised over 250 felony offenders in the DeQuincy area from 2012-19. In January 2020, Sergeant Haynes came to work for the DeQuincy Police Department as a patrol officer.
Earlier the DeQuincy Police Command Section met and determined that Sergeant Haynes met all the prerequisites to become a Patrol Sergeant. Chief Casey Whitehead agreed that Sergeant Haynes deserved a promotion because of her outstanding dedication to duty, her excellent reports, and her experience with felony offenders.
Sergeant Haynes also works with our senior citizens program and volunteers for different tasks. She stated that she is proud to be a member of the DeQuincy Police Department.
She assumed her new position as Patrol Sergeant on Monday, Feb. 28. Our DeQuincy Police Department is proud to have Sergeant Haynes as a member of our force.
