Elroy Johnson

On Eagles’ wings, Elroy soared into the arms of his waiting Savior the morning of Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022.
Elroy had an extraordinarily deep love for the Word of God and the souls of men, devoting his life to both in his 40+ years of ministry. Having founded four churches and pastoring six, he is leaving a massive legacy! Every person who knew Elroy was witness to the transformative power of Jesus Christ. He lived a servant’s life and truly modeled a servant’s heart. He laughed, cried, and supported all of us. Elroy absolutely loved the way Christ loves. He ran the race set before him and is now at rest in the arms of our loving Heavenly Father. HE FINISHED WELL!

Those left to mourn our loss and cherish the memories are the love of his life for 61+ years, Janell Carouthers Johnson (aka his little Chickadee); three children, Rev Keith and wife, Janice Johnson, Lisa and husband, Brent Thompson, Kimberly and husband, Michael Haar; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Camay Creel; brother-in-law, Kenneth Carouthers; and friends and loved ones too numerous to count.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Isabel Johnson; baby brother; and parents-in-law, John and Helen Carouthers.

KNOWING HE’LL BE THERE MAKES IT EASY TO GO HOME!
