Luther J. Warden, Jr. died, at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021 at the age of 88.
He was born in Merryville.
After marrying, they lived in the Port Arthur, Port Acres, and Orange, Texas areas, before moving back to Louisiana. After returning to Louisiana, they lived in the Rosepine and DeRidder areas.
He was a member of Bilbo and Roberts Church of Christ, in DeRidder.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Maude Franks Warden; and parents, Luther J. Warden and Bertie Johnson Warden.
He is survived by his two daughters, Karan (Kenneth) Coleman of DeRidder and Lisa (Lance) Willis of Plainview; son, Mark Warden of DeRidder; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Frieda Thompson of DeRidder, two brothers, Jerry Warden of Welsh and Travis Lynn Warden of Port Lavaca, Texas.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Pastor Don Snider and Pastor James Patterson will officiate. Burial will follow at Bivens Cemetery in Merryville.
