Patti A. Coplin (nee Talley), 70, of Lorain, Ohio died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021 while surrounded by her family at Regency Hospital West in Cleveland.
She was born June 2, 1951 in DeQuincy and had resided in Lorain since 1982.
Patti was a Licensed Practical Nurse and began her nursing career in West Feliciana Parish working for the Department of Corrections. She also worked for the Lorain County Department of Corrections and then at Brookdale Senior Living in Westlake before retiring.
Patti enjoyed spending time with her family, loved her grandchildren, watching scary movies, baking and was an animal lover. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Elyria.
She is survived by her children: Scott Opel (Michelle) of Lorain, Kevin Opel of Elyria and Stephanie Mehring of Lorain; grandchildren: Matthew Opel (Kortney), Michael Opel, Aaron Opel, Allie Costello (Brian), Emily Helton (TJ), Taylor Opel, Kaitlyn Opel, Skylar Mehring and Joshua Waters; 4 great-grandchildren and sister Sharlyn Talley of Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her father Gene Talley and mother Ellen Wells (nee Stanley.)
The family will receive friends Sunday Nov. 14, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain.
