James Devin Burchett was born Sept. 3, 1985 in Fort Worth, Texas and passed away Friday, Oct. 15, 2021 at his residence in DeQuincy.
He was a kind and considerate soul, who traveled back and forth across the United States, seeking a deeper spiritual experience. He loved seeing new places and meeting with new people, always seeing the good in them. He was a loving son who called his mother every Sunday to check in with her and to catch up with the family news and always tried to do whatever he could to help out whenever he was home. He was also a wonderful big brother always looking out for his little sister. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. He was 36 years of age.
He is survived by his parents, James Kennett Burchett and Debbra Faye McIntier-Burchett and his sister, Heather Faye Burchett-Menzel and her children, Skylor, Abby and Julie, all of DeQuincy.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Russell McIntier and Gladys McIntier.
The family received friends from 9-10 a.m. with the funeral service following on Saturday, Oct. 23, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home. Rev. Carlton Jackson, Jr officiated.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
