B1 Bank ATM robbed October 12

On Tuesday, Oct. 12, around 3:19 a.m., a citizen called the DeQuincy Police Dept. dispatcher and reported that she was awaken, went outside, and saw that a person(s) unknown had driven a white Ford truck to the ATM at b1 Bank and was pulling on it with a chain.

Lt. Loy Bader assisted by Capt. Doug Phillips responded to the scene and discovered that the ATM machine had been broken into and an unknown amount of cash had been removed.

Local cameras in the area depicted two males running from the bank towards Maple St., got into a vehicle and then fled. The white Ford truck was stolen out of Houston, Texas and recovered at the scene. The subjects fled in a vehicle going west.

The get-away vehicle has been identified and traced to subjects living in Houston. Persons of interest have been identified. Chief Casey Whitehead has already spoken with the FBI to get some assistance in Houston. All the police department is working on this case. These same subjects are suspected in numerous other ATM robberies. The investigation is in the preliminary stages of investigation and there is much more work to be done. The Calcasieu Parish Crime Scene unit was called to assist in the processing of the scene. Evidence collected such as DNA and other evidence will be sent to the CPSO crime lab. Chief Whitehead would like to thank all that assisted especially the CPSO for their help.
