Wayne Linscomb

Wayne Calvin Linscomb, 65, was born Apr. 6, 1956 in Beaumont, Texas and passed away Friday, July 23, 2021 at his residence in Starks.

He was a faithful member of Calvary Apostolic Church. Wayne was very active in the church where he served as Trustee and in the past he served for over 20 years as Sunday School Superintendent. He was very active in the community, always willing to help others. He was the President of Starks Business and Civic Association. He was employed for over twenty years as a welder with the Pipefitters Local Union 195 and retired in 2018. He loved his children and grandchildren and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his children, Joshua Wayne (J.W.) Linscomb, Dudley Linscomb and wife, Bethany, Caleb Linscomb and wife, Lori; grandchildren, Jacob, Kathrynn, Abbie, Caison, Clayne, Jude and Amelia; Wesley Bass who he loved like a son and his mother-in-law, Claudia Braneff along with a host of nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-one years, Alice Braneff Linscomb; parents, Walter Alvin Linscomb, Sr. and Murtie Fonville Linscomb; brothers, Walter A. Linscomb, Jr., William “Ricky” Linscomb; and nephew, Weldon Linscomb.

The family received friends from 5-9 p.m. Saturday, July 24, and resumed at 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, July 25, with the funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. The visitation and funeral service were held at Calvary Apostolic Church, 4270 Hwy 12, Starks. Pastor Jeremy Shields and Rev. Keith Smith of Tylertown, Miss. officiated. Interment followed at Clark Cemetery in Starks.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
