Rev. Bert N. Arnold, a resident of Deweyville, Texas, was born in Gulfport, Miss. on Jan. 24, 1945 and passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021 at the age of 76. He was a faithful member of Deweyville United Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruby Lee Foreman Arnold; children, Amelia Bailey of Deweyville, Texas, Jonathan Arnold and wife, LeAnne of Provo, Utah and Nathaniel Arnold and wife, Tracey of Moss Bluff; eight grandchildren, Tyler, Carlin, Katelynn, Kody, Jeremy, Kalob, Talon and Bethany; four great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Landon, Kayden and Axel. He is also survived by his sister, Frances Norsworthy of Natchitoches; and his brother Marion Morris and wife, Rita of Phoenix, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris U. Arnold and Eurilda Blanche Wyble Arnold; and his siblings, Glenn Morris, Myrna Payne, Judy Bolton, Jimmy Arnold and Joyce Arnold.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, May 15, and the visitation resumed at 12 to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 16, with the funeral beginning at 1:30 p.m. The visitation and funeral service were held at Deweyville United Pentecostal Church, 827 C.R. 4156, Deweyville, Texas. Pastor Michael Orange officiated. Interment followed at Riley Smith Memorial Park, DeQuincy.
In lieu of flowers the family requested donations be made to Deweyville United Pentecostal Church Building Fund.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
