Cooley throws no-hitter in playoff win

Hadley Cooley was brilliant on the mound on Monday, Apr. 26, as Cooley threw a no-hitter to lead Tigers past Rayville 9-0.

The Tigers opened up the scoring in the first inning. An error by Rayville scored one run for the Tigers.

The Tigers notched four runs in the third inning. Reese Ashworth, Traive Goutreaux, and Drew Duhon each drove in runs during the inning.

Cooley led the Tigers to victory on the hill. The righty went seven innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out 13 and walking one.

J. Hales took the loss for Rayville. The Bulldog allowed five hits and six runs over three innings, striking out one.

The Tigers racked up 11 hits in the game. Gavin Gary, Rayden Rosalis, Cooley, and Gunner Gearen all managed multiple hits for the Tigers. Gary went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Tigers in hits.

The Tigers advance to round two against Many or Winnfield. Round 2 is a best of three series that will be played Thursday, Apr. 29-Tuesday, May 4.
