Pamela McCloud

Pamela Walters McCloud, 73, a resident of DeQuincy, passed from this life on Friday, Jan. 29, 2021, at her residence. She was a woman of faith and attended Pentecostal Bible Institute in Mississippi. She met the love of her life in Louisville, Ky., on Dec. 12, 1969, and she married him just 6-months later. At an early age, she began playing and singing in church, and from there, her love for God and music grew. Pam and her husband taught Sunday School and were over music for 20 years at their former church in Macon, Ga. She had a deep love for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, crafting, and making things. You could almost always find her attempting another craft she had found online.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Phillip McCloud; children, Stephanie Hardesty and husband, Rusty of Forsyth, Ga., and Suzann Threet and husband, Tom of DeQuincy; brother, Charles Walters and wife, Mary Jane of Mooresville, N.C.; sister, Karen Simmons and husband, Billy of Byron, Ga., grandchildren, Rustin, Katie, Allyssa, Emily, Matthew, Beth and Tyler; and great-grandchildren, Kyler, Kensley, and Evelyn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Russell Walters and Elizabeth Ann Walters; and her most favorite boy, Steffan Hardesty.

The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, and the funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Wayne Neyland and Rusty Hardesty officiated. Interment followed at Riley Smith Memorial Park in DeQuincy.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
