Norma Henagan

Norma Henagan, 81, of DeQuincy passed on to meet her maker Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021. She was born on Oct. 16, 1939 to Thomas B. and Ruby Jacobs Taylor. Norma lived most of her life in DeQuincy. She retired as City Clerk of DeQuincy in 1989. She was a sweet Christian lady with a gentle spirit. She was a very loving wife, mother and mawmaw, totally devoted to her family and dear friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Norma leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of over 63 years, John D. Henagan; two daughters, Darlene Floyd and husband, David of Ragley and Johna Williams and husband, Roy of DeQuincy; one son, David Henagan and wife, Angela of DeQuincy; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Joy Young of Prairieville; one brother, Charles Taylor and wife Jaynette of DeQuincy; sister-in-law, Shirley Young and husband, Rodney of Katy, Texas along with many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas B. Taylor and Ruby Jacobs Taylor; and one brother, Thomas R. Taylor.

The family received friends from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy with the funeral service at 12 p.m. Rev. Gil Arthur and Rev. Jimmy Clark officiated. Interment followed at Masonic Cemetery in DeQuincy.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 201 S. Pine St., DeQuincy LA 70633.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
