James Lavell Bushnell, a lifelong resident of DeQuincy, was born Aug. 23, 1944 and passed away Monday, Jan. 18, 2021 at the age of 76.
He is survived by his brother, Huey Bushnell and wife, Dorothy; sister Catherine Buxton and husband, Henry; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Albert Bushnell and Ellen Christine Holmes Bushnell; sisters, Vera Bushnell, Laverne Taylor and Doris Leger; and brothers, Roy “Pap” Bushnell and Leonard Bushnell.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 22, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in De-Quincy.
The graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 23, beginning at 10 a.m. at Rig-maiden Cemetery in De-Quincy.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
