Hwy. 27 to see improvements

District 30 State Senator Mike Reese (R-Lethe Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announce a project to improve eight miles of LA 27 in north Calcasieu Parish.

The $900,000 project began at the intersection of Rigmaiden Cemetery Road and continues to High Hope Road, and will microsurface the roadway which will improve safety and the ride quality. Work began on Friday, Oct 23, and is expected to be complete by the end of the year, weather permitting.

“It is great to see projects such as this put into motion,” said Sen. Reese. “It is critical that we continue to improve and invest in our state’s infrastructure so that our motorists can travel on safe and efficient roadways.”

Motorists can expect to see daytime intermittent one lane closures throughout the duration of the project. Traffic will be maintained through the work zone by flaggers and/or a pilot car. DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
