Rev. James Isaac Worthington, 83, of Olive Branch, Miss. passed away Monday, Oct. 19, 2020 at Baptist Desoto Hospital. He was born Sept. 22, 1937 to his parents William Shelby and Ora Mae Worthington of Lindale, Texas.
Rev. Worthington devoted 67 years of his life to the ministry. During this time, he pastored multiple churches, spent five years as the ALJC district youth president of Louisiana, and helped establish many other churches.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, JoAnn Wallace Worthington of Olive Branch, Miss.; two sons, William Worthington and wife Patricia of Terrell, Texas, and Jimmy Worthington and wife Lisa of Start; a daughter Pamela Branch and husband Darrell of Olive Branch, Miss.; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Shelby Worthington and Ora Mae Dawson Worthington; his brother. Richard Worthington; and his sister, Joyce Worthington.
Graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
