Virginia Williams

Virginia Lee Taylor Williams, 77, was born in Gary, Texas on Oct. 13, 1942 and passed from this life on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020. She had an angelic voice and played the piano at her church where she attended. Virginia loved her flowers, especially her rose garden. She enjoyed cooking and canning, but most of all, she loved her family and would help anyone she could.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Lewis and wife Gina Williams of Singer and David Williams of Singer; one daughter, Kathy Williams McElwrath of DeQuincy; one brother, Gerald and wife Margie Taylor of Odessa, Texas; one sister, Louise Taylor of Burkeville, Texas; sister-in-law, Alice Merle Hennigan of Fields; brother-in-law, Frank Bo Williams of Lake Charles; four granddaughters, Sabrina Williams of Seattle, Wash., Lisa and husband John Blossom of Singer, Ashley Turner of Reno, Nev., and Whitney and husband Payton Potter of Camden, Ark.; two grandsons, David Q. Williams of Singer, and Dalton McElwrath of DeQuincy; five great-granddaughters, Brandie Cooley, Zoe Cooley, Cali Turner, Grace Lynn Williams, Serenity Williams; and four great-grandsons, Jamie Blossom, Ryle Blossom, John Turner, and Raylon Potter; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.

Virginia was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Aaron Williams; parents, Raymond and Kate Taylor; two sisters, Helen Bonnet and Wanda Ellis; one sister-in-law, Iris “Cookie” Wilcox; three brothers-in-law, Victor “Fielding” Williams, Grant Hennigan, and Danny Ellis; one daughter-in-law, Trudy Williams; four nephews, Tony Taylor, Tinki Taylor, Danny Ray Kerr, and Raymond Bennet; and one niece, Sissy Thomas.

Services were held at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. with Bro. Lewis King officiating. Visitation was hrlf at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home on Friday, Oct. 16, from 5 until 7 p.m. Visitation resumed at the funeral home on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial followed at Bilbo Cemetery in Singer.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Services were entrusted to Jordan and Amanda Mothershed of Hixson-Snider Funeral Home, 203 E, Harrison St., DeQuincy.
