Ollie Ruth Henagan Long, 90, of DeQuincy, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020 at her son’s home in San Antonio, Texas. A strong woman of faith, Ollie, peacefully went to be with her Savior and family in her sleep. She was born in DeQuincy on Dec. 18, 1929 to Joseph Henagan and Sarah Harvey Henagan.
A lifelong housewife, Ollie raised her two sons and volunteered in numerous areas in the Baptist Churches wherever she lived. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many in DeQuincy and around the United States. She attended First Baptist Church of DeQuincy and spent many years delivering sermon tapes to members, enjoying weekly board/card game days with her friends and making coconut pies for friends, and her beloved chocolate oatmeal cookies for her grandchildren.
