George Guillory, 83 of DeQuincy passed into the arms of his Saviour Tuesday, Apr. 21, 2020 in Lake Charles.
He was born to his parents, Louis Fontenot Sr. and Edna Carrier Fontenot. George has been married to the love of his life Mary Rose Guillory for 65 years. George’s lifetime occupation was truck driving and logging. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed many hobbies which included training, raising horses and horse racing at Delta Downs and other facilities. he enjoyed trail rides, zydeco music, dancing, but most of all he loved being surrounded by his family and friends. He also was very productive in his community and was a positive support to his family and friends.
George was proceeded in death by his parents; brothers, James Williams, Louis Fontenot Jr., and Victor Fontenot; and sister, Louvenia Johnson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Rose Guillory; daughter, Suprena Buck and husband Isiah lll of DeQuincy; brothers, Phillip Fontenot of Lavonia, Oliver Fontenot of DeQuincy and Charles Fontenot and wife Monica of Chesterfield, Va.; sisters, Beatrice Sweazie and husband Samuel and Vera Johnson, all of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Isiah Buck IV, George Anthony Buck (Jaylnn Richard) and Kaleb Buck; great-grandchildren, George Buck Jr. and Aaliyah Buck. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A private visitation was held on Saturday, Apr. 25, at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home.
Graveside services were held at Community Cemetery on Saturday, Apr. 25, at 12 p.m.
Funeral services have been entrusted to Jordan and Amanda Mothershed of Hixson-Snider Funeral Home, 205 E. Harrison St., DeQuincy.
