Mary Joyce Thornton was born Jan. 10, 1961 in Lafayette and passed away Tuesday, Mar. 10, 2020 at the age of 59. She was a resident of Sulphur.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Michael Thornton; children, Robert Armstrong and Tiffany, Lemonte Armstrong and Anna, Derick Armstrong and Janielle, Michelle O’Quain and Tristen, and Joycelyn Thornton and Van along with 12 grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, JoAnn Guidry, Ronald Henry and Marilyn, Doris Rellford and Willie, Fredia Henry, Tammy Allen and Vajanzo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Davis Joseph Henry and Dorothy Ann Savoie Henry; and her brother-in-law, Tim Guidry.
The family received friends from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. Saturday, Mar. 14, and the funeral service began at 10 a.m. The visitation and funeral service was held at House of Prayer, 920 Harrison Street, Westlake. Pastor Nathaniel P. Ledet, Sr. officiated.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
