On Thursday, Feb. 20, at 9:36 p.m., DeQuincy Police Department Officers Mike Reeher and Loy Bader were dispatched to the Family Dollar Store, located at 501 West Fourth St., in DeQuincy.
Upon arrival they spoke with a clerk who advised that a black male, over 6’ tall weighing around 220 lbs. had just come into the store, pointed a pistol at him and robbed the store of several hundred dollars.
The subject was wearing all black clothes with gloves and a mask. The pistol was described as an automatic with silver on top of the pistol. The robber gave the clerk a bag and told him to put the money in the bag. A video was obtained of the whole incident. The robber left on foot but later video obtained depicted the robber coming in on a bicycle.
