Mike Reese, the new state senator for Senate District 30 will be the keynote speaker at the Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet on Thursday, Mar. 5.
The Leesville Republican replaced former Sen. John Smith. Senator Reese was one of 20 new members sworn in during an organizational session of the Senate at the State Capitol in Baton Rouge recently.
Sen. Reese places a high priority on improving the state’s education system. He also plans to focus on easing burdensome government regulations and creating a more competitive tax structure.
He is a community and business leader. He is involved with a number of business operations focusing on logistics, warehousing, and commercial real estate development. He has served as the Chairman of Fort Polk Progress since its founding in 2006.
Reese is a graduate of Leesville High School and a native of Vernon Parish. He and his wife, Morgan, reside in Leesville with their two children.
