Naval Sea Cadets train with Starks firefighters

U. S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps

Cadets from Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana attached to Chennault Battalion U S Naval Sea Cadet Corps, conducted Fire Fighting training with Ward 5 Volunteer Fire Department in Starks this past weekend.

The U. S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps is a National program for youth ages 10-18. This program, chartered by Congress in 1952 and supported by the U. S. Navy and U. S. Coast Guard, provides kids with a life changing opportunity to learn skills related to the Sea Services, leadership and provides opportunities in a number of military related trainings such as: Military Police, Medical, Culinary, STEM and many others.

While there is no obligation to join the military, many cadets have gone on to serve in every branch.
