Herman Ray Hill has announced his candidacy for Louisiana State House District 32.
Hill has been a teacher, coach, cattleman, and public servant. As a state legislator, he secured more than $100 million for District 32 during his career.
He retired as a teacher and coach from East Beauregard High School. He was inducted into the Louisiana High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame, was selected as a Coach’s Legend in Girls’ Basketball for the State of Louisiana, and was named National Coach of the Year during his coaching career. His teams won five state championships and were runners-up six times.
He is married to State Representative Dorothy Sue Tramel Hill. They have one son, Craig Ray Hill, and three grandchildren. The family owns and operates T&H Hereford Farm in Dry Creek, raising registered Hereford and black baldie cattle. He is a member of the Beauregard, Allen and La. Cattlemen’s Association. He has served as president of the Louisiana Hereford Association for many years.
The Hills are also tree farmers, members of the Louisiana Forestry Association and members of the state and local Farm Bureau. He and his family are members of Cherry Grove Baptist Church in the Beauregard Baptist Association where he serves as deacon and church treasurer.
