The awards were presented by WM Lanty Wylie. Students honored were Brody Pickering and Ashton Gibbs, Singer High School; Lanty Beau Wylie, Emily Mattheson, Terhyn Barlow, Matthew Bronson, Zane Cooley, and Molly Neyland, DeQuincy High School; and Grace Gillis and Ian Swain, Starks High School.

The students and families were served a meal. Afterwards, the Masons presented a special program and then each student was recognized and presented with a certificate and a key that represents integrity.

The area juniors from Singer, Starks, and DeQuincy who received the awards were chosen not for their grades, but for the substance of their character. The high school counselors are asked to look for youth who stand out as kind and show an aptitude for goodness.

Area officials present were Mayor Riley Smith and Denise Maddox, principal of Singer High School.
