Edmiston named President of Convention, Visitors Bureau

Kyle Edmiston

Kyle Edmiston has been named as the new President/CEO of the Lake Charles/Southwest Louisiana Convention & Visitors Bureau (LC/SWLA CVB). He has served as the Chief Operating Officer since January of 2018.

He previously served as the assistant secretary for the Louisiana Office of Tourism, a position which he held for almost six years under the direction of two different Lt. Governor administrations. Edmiston is the former President/CEO of the Ruston Lincoln Convention & Visitors Bureau as well as the former Executive Director of alumni relations at Louisiana Tech University. He is also a graduate of Louisiana Tech, having earned a bachelor’s degree in finance.

In 2017, Edmiston was named as the National State Tourism Director of the Year by the U.S. Travel Association and was named to the “Top 25 Extraordinary Minds in Hospitality, Sales, Marketing & Revenue Optimization” by Hospitality, Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI). He served as the Travel South USA board chair in 2016-2017 and served on their board from 2012 until 2018. He also served as Chair of the Louisiana Association of Convention and Visitor’s Bureaus (LACVB) and served on the board of Southeast Tourism Society and National Council of State Tourism Directors.

Edmiston currently serves on Brand USA’s board of directors as Treasurer, as well as the U.S. Travel Association’s board of directors and the Federal Reserve Bank Travel & Tourism’s advisory committee. He serves on the board of directors and treasurer of the Louisiana Travel Association and a member of the board of LACVB.
