Trent Buxton re-elected to BECi seat

The results of the Beauregard Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BECi), director elections were announced Saturday during the BECi Annual Membership Meeting at co-op headquarters in DeRidder.

Incumbent Director Teddy Welch was elected to represent District Five, receiving 315 votes, defeating candidate Charles “Danny” White, who received 310 votes.

District Six Director Trent Buxton was re-elected without opposition. Buxton, a resident of DeQuincy, is the Environmental, Health and Safety Director at Juniper GTL and is also the co-owner of Toddler Junction Early Learning Center in DeQuincy. Buxton, an alumnus of DeRidder High School, is active in the Bible Baptist Church of DeQuincy and DeQuincy Dixie Youth Athletics.

District Eight Director Diana Beglis Backhaus was re-elected without opposition.

The three directors officially began serving three-years term at Saturday’s annual meeting.
