Mary Ruth Bird Duplissey, 94, of DeRidder died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019, in DeRidder.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 16, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder with Rev. Lindsey Burns officiating. Interment followed at Beauregard Cemetery, DeRidder.
She was born in Merryville and graduated from Merryville High and McNeese. She was a member of First Baptist Church since 1966, Beauregard Hospital Auxiliary since 1997, and Louisiana Retired Teachers Association. She was Librarian for 23 years at DeRidder Elementary and Hanchey Elementary.
Survivors include her stepdaughters, Fonda Oliver and husband Danny, June Wells and husband Jerry, Jo Lynn Perry and husband Carl; stepsons, Dale Bird and wife Joanne; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Irvin Bird; second husband, Percy Duplissey; stepdaughter, Marsha Campbell; parents, Mason and Flavia Stark; two sisters; and five brothers.
