Druscilla “ Aunt Dru” Barrow was born on Apr. 24, 1932 and passed away on Friday, Feb. 15, 2019 at the age of 86 in DeQuincy.
She is survived by her children, David Barrow and wife, Diane, Linda Barrow and husband, Gayland, all of DeQuincy, and Sam Barrow and wife, Pat of Thornton, Texas; along with 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; 36 great-great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her special nieces, Bessie Streams Bagwell and Zelda Bertrand; and a special nephew, Vernon Barrow and wife, Bobby.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Winfrey “Windy” Barrow; one son, Joseph “Joe” Barrow; her parents, Charles and Molly Streams; and her aunt who raised her, Mary Montiville; along with seven sisters; and three brothers.
The family received friends on Saturday, Feb. 16, from 1-9 p.m. at Hargrove Bible Baptist Church in DeQuincy and on Sunday, Feb. 17, from 12 noon until time for the funeral service which began at 2 p.m. at the church. Bro. Harry Methvin officiated and Pastor Paul Nugent and Rev. Greg Cavenah assisted. Interment followed at Perkins Cemetery in DeQuincy.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
