Applications being taken for new center coordinator

The Calcasieu Council on Aging is seeking applicants for a part-time position as the Coordinator of the DeQuincy Senior Center.

Applicants will need to be able to direct daily programs at the DeQuincy Senior Center, which include health, education, recreation, and nutrition activities. They need to be able to answer walk-in or telephone requests for information on services, and to be able to make referrals for those services.

Attendance at meetings and training sessions is required.

Applicants should have a good knowledge of senior activities and interests and be able to interact well with both seniors and staff members. Prior experience working with seniors is a plus.

Basic computer skills and a high school diploma (or equivalent) are required. They also need to be able to keep records and prepare reports using the Microsoft Office Suite programs.
