James Virgadamo, 80, of Sulphur, died on Friday, Apr. 22, 2022, in a local hospital.
A Lake Charles native, he was a retired Sergeant with the Department of Transportation Weights and Standards. He was also a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps, having served two tours in the Vietnam War as a radio operator with 7th Communications Battalion attached to 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division
He is survived by his children Connie EtiƩ of Lumberton, Texas, Gina Williams and husband Lewis of Singer, Cheryl Singleton of Sulphur, Olaf Virgadamo of Sulphur, Tony Virgadamo and wife Stephanie of Sulphur, Mary Emery and husband Harvey of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Daniel Virgadamo and wife Soosze of Killeen, Texas, and Donald Virgadamo and wife Kimberly of Singer; 28 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; brother Michael Virgadamo of Baton Rouge; and wife, Debbie Virgadamo of Sulphur.
He was preceded in death by parents, Jimmy and June Virgadamo; and one sister; and wife, Lee Ann Virgadamo.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, Apr. 30, at Our Lady of LaSalette Parish in Sulphur. Burial was in Orange Grove Cemetery in Lake Charles under the direction of Johnson-Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur.
