The Merryville High Alumni Association inducted James (Jimmy) Karr Sr. into the Merryville High School Hall of Fame on Friday, Oct. 23, during the Homecoming activities. He was a member of the class of 1953-54. The Alumni stated he was inducted for his long years of outstanding service to his Forestry work and the remarkable contribution he made to education on behalf of the students, teachers, and schools of the state of Louisiana.
Jimmy served 24 years as School Board Member of Calcasieu Parish.
Lillian, his wife, and children, Dianne, Weldon, and Brenda, received the award that was presented by Pard Stark, Board Member of Alumni Association.
