Charlene Jeanette Stanley, 77, of DeQuincy, passed into the arms of her Savior on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020 in Covington. She was born in DeQuincy on May 22, 1943. She enjoyed reading the Bible, painting, sewing, loved going to the camp, and cooking for her family. She always would let you know how she felt and would offer words of wisdom. Charlene was a Pink Lady at DeQuincy Memorial Hospital, and she loved serving the people.
She is survived by her children, Janet Jordy and husband Willie of DeQuincy, Andy Stanley and wife Carol of Tenaha, Texas, Michael Stanley and wife Teresa of DeQuincy, David Stanley and wife Robin of DeQuincy; one brother, Blake Lyons; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved pet, Rosie.
Charlene was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Lanise Stanley; father, O. J. Rainwater and mother, Mary Ruth Lyons and husband William “Bill” Lyons; one sister, Judy Ann Clark; along with her brother, James Rainwater.
A Celebration of Charlene’s life will be held at The Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy Gymnasium on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Wayne Neyland officiating. Visitation will be at The Pentecostal Church Gymnasium on Friday, Oct. 2, from 6 until 8 p.m. Visitation will resume at the Church Gym on Saturday, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Hyatt Cemetery.
Services have been entrusted to Jordan and Amanda Mothershed of Hixson-Snider Funeral Home, 205 E. Harrison St., DeQuincy.
