City Council met Monday, June 8th

The June 8th DeQuincy regular monthly City Council meeting was called to order by Cameron Smith at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers located at 300 N Holly St. Invocation and pledge were lead by Mayor Riley Smith and Scott Wylie with Roll Call by Sherri Breaux. May 11th Regular Meeting Minutes and June 8th Amended Agenda were approved by the Council.

City Reports

Mayor Riley Smith

Mayor Smith spoke of events during the month. A Memorial Day Celebration at the Veterans Park was put on my Vance Perkins.

Mayor Smith thanked Perkins for a wonderful program and it was well attended. Ray Hyatt celebrated his 100th birthday at the La Grande Maison on Saturday, June 6. Hyatt was the City Planner in his earlier years. His celebration was well attended. Food boxes will be distributed on Friday, June 12. Volunteers are needed to help deliver out of city limits food boxes to the shut ins.

Mayor Smith talked of the Old Town Hall Building receiving lots of damage from Hurricane Laura.
