The DeQuincy Police Dept. is requesting help:
At 4:26 a.m., on Tuesday, May 12, two apparently young males, while using a hammer, busted out a front door from a local business, went inside and stole numerous high value rifles, then departed the store and left on foot towards the east and then south behind the store.
After the initial report was completed by DQPD patrol officers, the case was turned over to Major Jerry Bell for further investigation. Fingerprints were obtained at the scene. Items recovered at the scene were sent to the Calcasieu Parish Crime lab to obtain DNA. DQPD is requesting help from the public to recover the stolen rifles and to keep them off the street. One item recovered shown with this article is an expensive Addidas bag with Stella McCartney stamped on the bag. If anyone is missing this type of bag or knows of anyone having this type of bag that may have been stolen, please notify the DQPD. This bag may be the clue to solving this burglary and theft.
