Thomas “Peewee” Rushing was born Oct. 8, 1959, and passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the age of 66.
He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Rushing; grandchildren, Gavyn Puryear, Adriana Puryear, and Nathaniel Glawson; sisters, Margaret Eddleman, Ima Stains and husband Curtis, Sadie Sigler and husband Allen, and Sandra Cardozier and husband Dale Sr.; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Rushing; parents, Huey and Ruth Rushing; twin brother, Huey “Pinky” Rushing; and brother-in-law, Arthur Eddleman.
The family received friends from 5 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 12, and continuing from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 13, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Bro. Mike Streams will be officiating. Interment to follow at Miller Annex Cemetery in Starks.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
