Ella Mae Carrier was born Feb. 2, 1947, and passed away Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the age of 79.
She is survived by her children, Mildred Carrier Vincent and husband Louie Jr., of Carlyss, Karen Sue Carrier Jones and husband Eddie, of Sulphur, Troy Carrier and wife Tabitha, of Valley Head, Alabama, Tammy Carrier Cormier and husband Mike, of Sulphur, and Donna Carrier Fontenot and husband Scott, of Sulphur; 22 grandchildren; 53 great- grandchildren; three great- great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Calhoun; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvian Carrier; son, Rickey Carrier; great-great-granddaughter, Maxine Howell; parents, Romaine and Azalena Cain; and sisters, Betty Laughlin and Irma Jean Laughlin.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 8, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 9, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home. Rev Andrew Johnson will be officiating. Interment to follow at Big Woods Cemetery in Vinton.
