Trent Adrian Schmidt was born Apr. 27, 1990, and passed away Sunday, Apr. 26, 2026, at the age of 35.
Trent had a heart of gold and a spirit that touched everyone he met. He was deeply family-oriented, always putting his loved ones first and cherishing every moment spent together. Known for his caring and loving nature, Trent brought comfort and warmth to those around him. His sense of humor could light up any room, and his strength carried him through life’s challenges. A very open and straightforward person, Trent spoke honestly and lived with sincerity, earning the trust and respect of those around him. Trent will be remembered for his kindness, his laughter, and the unwavering love he shared so freely.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Chapman; son, Cayden Schmidt; stepdaughters, Victoria Lewis, Bailey Chapman, and Madison Chapman; mother, Deana Haynes; siblings, Michael Dyson, Layton Haynes, Shannon Haynes and wife Lexi, and Kaitlyn Schmidt; family friend, Rhonda Main; along with numerous other family, friends, and loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mark Schmidt; and grandparents, Della Stuckey, James Stuckey; Bill Haynes, and Carolyn Haynes.
The family received friends from 5 – 8 p.m., Friday, May 1, and continued from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 2, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Alvin Dale Smith officiated. Interment followed at Rigmaiden Cemetery in DeQuincy.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
