After mother nature took the victory on Friday with an absolute washout, the South Beauregard Golden Knights began their best of three quarterfinal series with a doubleheader on Saturday against the Erath Bobcats. Boy it was a heck of a series! However the Knights would go on to take both games 4-3 and 5-2 to punch their ticket to the state semifinals as they will now travel to the top seeded Sterlington Panthers with a trip to Sulphur on the line!
South Beau is looking for their second state title in just three years and their third in program history. But they’ll certainly have to play complimentary baseball against Sterlington, who the Knights beat a couple of years ago, in the state championship. Both teams are definitely familiar with each other on the diamond!
